The following are testimonials we have received about our services.
To whom it concern,
This letter is in regards to the services provided to my mom during her stay at At the Lake Adult Care. Simply stated, this place is the best! I cannot say enough about the wonderful care my mom has received here.
Over a year ago, my mom had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and was having difficulty living at home with my dad. She was wandering, falling a lot, refusing meds and not eating well at all. Her anxiety level was high, health was deteriorating and she needed care that we were not able to provide. We heard about Marnie and Mike Wipper’s home from a friend who worked at Guardian Angels Home Care in Elk River.
She came to live here in April of 2010. It is “home” here, not institutional at all. My mom has a beautiful bedroom with views of the lake; she can participate in many activities from games, bible studies, field trips, crafts, etc. Her quality of life is so much better. Before she laid in bed much of the day with not a whole lot of stimulation and she was sick much of the time. Here she gets up in the morning and goes till evening! I don’t even think she naps anymore! Her health has greatly improved. My dad and I are able to visit and call anytime. We feel at ease discussing any concerns that we have and it is almost like we have become extended family members.
It was really scary when we had to decide to place my mom, my parents have been married over 68 years and my dad and I weren’t able to adequately care for her growing needs. He was very reluctant to have my mom placed in a care facility. To find a place like Marnie and Mike’s was like finding a rare gem, we hit the jackpot! I cannot say enough about this place. My mom is well-treated with respect, kindness and she is thriving!!! It is a huge relief to know that she is happy and doing so well.

Hi guys…….
My daughter Sandy visited Gail Sunday on her way home from the cabin. All she could say was…..”Marnie sure got Gail looking good”. Her skin, hair, etc really impressed her. Sandy is a dental assistant and, or course, had to check her teeth out….WALLA looking great! I just cannot say how happy I am with all you both did for her during her stay with you.

I feel confident in recommending people to their home as I know they will receive very good care and be provided with the quality of life that our aging population deserves.”

“Mike and Marnie Wipper and their staff are dedicated and skilled caregivers. Their home is comfortable and comforting for residents and their families. Marnie’s nursing background is a bonus. They are able to meet a variety of resident care needs.”

From out-of-state family:
“She looked so pretty when we picked her up, and seemed lots less anxious than previously. You have provided her safety and a sense of true security – so much more so than I ever saw during the times when she needed to stay at the nursing home. I feel most fortunate that I am able to see her whenever I come back to MN, and that you are always so welcoming of me. You have kept us so well informed. While * knows more details than I, I do think that I have a better sense of her well-being than many of my friends who live in the same community as their parents who are in intensive senior care. Please accept my sincere appreciation.”

“Mike and Marnie are stellar foster care providers. They follow through on what they say they are going to do and keep family and other members of the client’s team informed of changes and needs. They provide a loving home and make everyone that enters feel welcome.”
